Connect Cumberland

Cumberland’s Official Community Plan (OCP) is under review and we are looking for your input! The OCP lays out the long-term vision to guide growth and change in the community over the next 10 years and beyond. The OCP also sets priorities for housing, climate change, economic development, transportation and mobility, infrastructure, heritage protection, arts and culture, food systems, parks and recreation, environmental protection and overall community well-being.On May 24, 2023, the Village closed off Third Street between Dunsmuir and Penrith to hold a Plan your Community Street Event between 12 noon and 7 pm. The event drew over 175 participants who shared their long-term vision for the Village and identified issues, concerns and suggestions for discussion at public engagement activities planned for the fall.If you weren't able to participate in the May 24 event, the mapping tool, vision board and topic discussion forums below allow you to provide your input online until July 9. Official Community Plan Review

Project OverviewThe Village of Cumberland is updating its Transportation Master Plan (TMP), which was identified as one of the priorities in the 2020-2023 Strategic Priorities document. The Village&rsquo;s current Roads Master Plan has not been updated since 2007 and Cumberland has seen significant growth over this time. Since 2007, the community has witnessed significant growth. Further, transportation trends and best practices have evolved over the last 16 years and the Village has an opportunity to make its transportation network more inclusive and accessible to all users, and more sustainable to meet its climate action commitments outlined in the 2014 Official Community Plan. The Transportation Master Plan will encompass all forms of mobility including walking, rolling, cycling and transit and all transportation-related infrastructure, including roads, sidewalks, cycling and multi-use pathways, parking spaces, and bus stops.The Village is seeking input from the community to identify the long-term direction for the transportation system, as well as quick wins and priority actions that can be implemented in the shorter term.
